Dermaplaning is a skin care treatment that removes dead skin cells and vellus hair- also known as peach fuzz. An aesthetician uses a small, sterile blade while holding the skin taut, swiping the blade in gentle upward motions. You can expect to see an instant improvement in skin texture and tone, while the long-term effects are increased cell turnover, fewer wrinkles and dark spots, reduction of acne scarring, and the removal of fine facial hair. Removing the peach fuzz is beneficial since the fine hairs trap debris and oils and give the skin a dull look.
What is Dermaplaning?
After dermaplaning, skin care products and treatments perform much more efficiently since they can penetrate the skin more easily. Your makeup goes on smoother as well. The treatment is painless and quite relaxing. Dermaplaning leaves your skin brighter, smoother, glowing, and more youthful.

What to Expect
At Your Appointment
Dermaplaning is a painless procedure that only takes about 15-20 minutes. Before treatment, your skin will be thoroughly cleaned with a mild cleanser. During treatment, you will feel a light sensation of the blade moving over your face, which will help to loosen dead skin cells. The skin is treated with a moisturizing mask immediately after treatment is completed.
What to Expect
After Your Appointment
Following treatment, you might schedule a chemical peel or laser skin resurfacing, which can be more effective after the initial preparation of dermaplaning. On its own, dermaplaning will produce beautiful results with softer, smoother skin that will more readily absorb moisturizers and other skincare products. Because the protective outer layer of the skin is removed, you will want to protect yourself with sunscreen before going outside.
