What Are Medical Grade Facials?

The difference between a traditional spa facial and medical facial treatments are that medical facials are performed by a medical aesthetician using high-quality medical grade products. A medical grade facial is a result driven process which focuses on clearing skin blemishes and promoting longtime skin health overall. While a medical grade facial can be relaxing, it is more specifically targeted and goal oriented.

Medical grade facials are also safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

A medical grade facial is customized to meet your skin needs. These skin problems can be a number of issues. Some of the most common reasons for getting a medical facial are:

  • Anti-aging
  • Dehydrated skin
  • Facial sunspots or damage
  • Acne issues
  • Mild rosacea
  • Skin Rejuvenation

What to Expect
At Your Appointment

A medical grade facial is designed specifically for you. Before performing your facial, you will come in for a consult with our medical aesthetician. A medical facial is custom tailored to what your primary and long term needs are for your skin. You will see immediate improvements for your primary concern, and see the long term benefits of healthier skin.

While different from a spa facial, the first few steps of a medical facial are similar. They follow the routine steps of cleansing, exfoliating, extractions, massaging, and moisturizing. However, these are done on a much more intense level. Along with these steps, a medical facial can also involve dermaplaning, the use of microcurrent, ultrasound, and radio waves for skin firming and lifting, a chemical peel, or LED light therapy.

What to Expect
After Your Appointment

After the appointment the most immediate side effect can be your skin feeling warm or appearing more red than normal, depending on how sensitive your skin is. Your medical aesthetician will discuss with you.

Any redness on your skin will quickly fade, and you’ll be left with skin that appears smoother, tighter, and clearer! Depending on the treatments included in your medical facial, it may take a few days to see the full impact of the facial. Results are also based on the frequency with which you get treatments done – the more you go, the better and more clear your skin will look.
