The injection itself is a very mild pinch, similar to a bug bite. The needle is very fine to avoid any pain, bruising, or swelling.
The injection is directed into the muscle, under the skin. The length of the treatment will vary based on the size and number of the target areas. The average Botox, Xeomin or Dysport treatment takes anywhere from 15-25 minutes.
After your treatment, it is important to avoid certain activities for the first 4 hours. You must not lay down, or bend your head for a sustained period of time.
Do not touch or rub the treatment area to avoid moving the Botox, Xeomin or Dysport and affecting other muscles. In rare cases, some people report getting headaches after a Botox injection.
The best way to ensure you are completely satisfied with your treatment is to return for a follow up in 2 weeks time. If there are any areas that you feel require additional treatment they can be touched up at that time.
Many patients book their first 3 appointments exactly 3 months apart to ensure continuous results.
